Jeanne M. Hammond is of counsel with Donahue Gallagher Woods LLP, where she specializes in intellectual property law, with an emphasis on trademarks, and in business and corporate transactions. She represents a diverse group of clients ranging from sole proprietors to international and national software developers, real estate companies, and national professional services corporations.

Ms. Hammond has an extensive intellectual property practice emphasizing trademark law and unfair competition. As part of her intellectual property practice, Ms.Hammond provides clients with general advice regarding trademarks, copyrights and unfair competition. She advises clients regarding trade name and trademark selection, conducting national and international trademark searches to aid in the trademark selection process, and then aids clients in establishing systems for monitoring and protecting their important trademarks. She has prosecuted numerous trademark applications, and she has litigated trademark infringement actions in civil court, and prosecutes similar actions before the U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. In that regard, she drafts trademark licensing agreements, franchise agreements, and various kinds of agreements involving intellectual property rights. Ms.Hammond also represents clients in disputes regarding copyrights and unfair competition.

Ms. Hammond advises clients with regard to general corporate matters, including giving advice regarding business structure, management incentive compensation and stock option plans, and employment agreements. In addition to drafting documents relating to these general corporate matters, she also has experience drafting and negotiating business acquisition agreements.

Ms. Hammond has practiced with Donahue Gallagher since 1992, becoming a partner in 1998. She withdrew from the partnership at the end of 1999 to pursue other endeavors. In June 2001, Ms.Hammond returned to Donahue Gallagher in an of counsel position. She received her law degree in 1992 from Boalt Hall, University of California at Berkeley. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1987 from U.C. Berkeley, where she became a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.

She is a member of the State Bar of California and the Alameda County Bar Association.
