Eric A. Handler is an associate with Donahue Gallagher Woods LLP, specializing in intellectual property law and commercial litigation. Mr. Handler handles diverse intellectual property matters, including copyright infringement litigation and negotiating settlements of claims relating to illegal use of software products. Mr. Handler earned his law degree summa cum laude, Order of the Coif, from the University of Arizona College of Law in 2001. During law school, he interned at the United States Department of Justice. He also obtained a grant from the State of Arizona to analyze the legal ramifications of proposed water supply augmentation projects under consideration for Southern Arizona. Mr. Handler received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Environmental Studies from Brown University in 1995. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Handler was an associate with Mesch, Clark & Rothschild, P.C. in Tucson, Arizona, where he focused on personal injury litigation, representation of municipalities, and writing appeals. He subsequently moved to California and practiced asbestos-related complex civil litigation at Paul, Hanley & Harley LLP in Berkeley. Prior to law school, Mr. Handler worked extensively in the computer software industry as a software developer. He also worked for Microsoft Corporation as a developer support engineer, helping advanced software developers use the Microsoft® Visual Basic® programming language to connect to databases.
