California Resale Royalty Act
Many artists do not know that under the California Resale Royalty Act they may be entitled to a royalty payment in certain circumstances when their art is resold and either the seller resides in California or the sale takes place in California. This may include when buildings which contain such art are resold. Our artist resale royalty practice enforces these rights on behalf of artists. The California Resale Royalty Act also allows for the possibility for artists to recover reasonable attorney’s fees if a successful lawsuit is brought to recover such payment.
